The cost of transfer depends on the mode of conveyance, personnel accompanying the patient as well as the distance to be travelled. The patient’s physical condition and the distance to be travelled will determine the form of transport – for eg; in case of international transfer, critical patients will require medi-vac equipped charter flights while stable patients can opt for transport via a commercial flight. In addition, certain patients may require specialised personnel (additional staff, senior consultant or specialist) to accompany them. You will be required to provide us with a case summary following which our consultant will discuss the case with your treating doctor. In certain cases, we send one of our own specialists to assess the patient. Following patient evaluation, a senior consultant will determine the best mode of conveyance, provided the patient’s condition meets transport criteria. You will then be contacted by our medical coordinator who will counsel you regarding the suitable options based on the patient’s medical requirements. The final selection rests with the patient and attendants based on the options available and information provided.

This depends on the respective locations of the patient and the selected hospital. Ground ambulances, are usually deployed immediately on receiving a call. In case of air transport, an Global Criticare Ambulabce Service- authorised aircraft can fly off within 2-3 hours of your call provided the patient’s location is close to a landing strip that can accommodate our aircraft. Airlifts also depend on weather conditions as well as take-off and landing clearance by the Indian Air Traffic Controller.

On requesting a patient tranfer, our coordinator will contact you and provide you with a list of documents required. Documents in accordance with AHA transport guidelines are arranged by Global Criticare Ambulabce Service. This includes consent forms which have to be filled and signed by the patient’s attendant.

Yes we can. However, if and when your patient is placed on the transplant list, we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible. This will save valuable time when an organ becomes available and the patient needs to be rushed to the hospital. In cases where an organ donor is a relative and the transplant date is planned, the standard procedure for scheduling patient transport can be followed.
